The Handi Lift Walk Belt is a popular transfer belt for patient handling. You can use it for transferring people, and when walking with people who need help. Two Carers normally work together when using the Handi Lift Walk Belt. If necessary one Carer with training can work alone as long as this is safe. This may be for patients who have more ability to stand and walk. The 10cm / 4? wide double Hook & Loop Tape belt is very supportive. You can fit the Belt around the waist on ladies, or under the arms of men and some women. All four of the webbing handles are padded. This product is available in either: Standard White Nylon material White Nylon with a grey Miracle Grip rubber lining (latex free) Sometimes women with a pendulous bust may prefer the Soft Transfer Belt (sold separately). The Soft Transfer Belt is narrower at the front and may be a better fit. CLEANING Wipe clean with a hospital grade disinfectant or wash up to 80°C (176°F). Air or tumble dry on a cool setting, ensuring the drum is cool. Ensure the product is dry before using or storing. Withdraw from use if any faults found and contact Pelican Manufacturing. IMPORTANT General Manual Handling Warning: Manual Handling products are designed to assist carers to help patients. They will not make the carer stronger or fitter, but with correct training and use of the products, should make manual handling easier and safer for both staff and patients. When training, practise with an able-bodied colleague. If any procedure is not comfortable or is difficult and puts the carer or patient in a dangerous position, the participants should call out to stop the manoeuvre, recover and recommence. Never jeopardise your health by straining, twisting or being incorrectly positioned when manual handling. Always select the most appropriate equipment for the patients current condition and if in doubt, use mechanical equipment. Ask your Manual Handling adviser for individual guidance.
